A friend of mine once said that we all deserve to be with somebody who "gets our magic," and that idea has stuck with me. No one should settle for "good enough," and we all deserve to be with somebody that amazes and excites us. That sense of mutual wonderment should be a part of any romantic relationship. I'm an intensely social person - I like having people around. I want to have a home where people gather, at least occasionally, and my ideal match would share that interest. Dinner parties, the occasional weekend barbecue, dinner out on the town with friends - these are all things that I think enhance life, and building that sense of community is important to me.
Part of the point of living here is all of the opportunities to be outdoors, and I try to remind myself to take advantage of those opportunities as often as possible. I have to admit, though, that I'm more likely to take full advantage if I have somebody with whom to share these things. I am not possessive or controlling and would like to meet someone who is able to spend a day following their own interests and then at the end of the day come home and spend the evening with me. Share our experiences and our dreams and be together... If something interests you and it is important to you that I be there... I will. If it is important to you for me to try it... I will.
I enjoy being a dad to my Daughter alot and trying new activities, and I'm willing to give them a chance even if my first few attempts don't go smoothly. I like to be active, although like most people I have those days when I sink into the couch. I love to cook - everything from baking bread to making sushi to firing up some barbecue. I like to go out, but I also love to entertain at home. I try to build my life around people and not things, and enjoying the company of friends should always be a priority.
I like to travel, and I've made it to India, Israel, Egypt, Canada, Mexico City, and Brazil within the last two years. I look forward to exploring new places, and to revisiting old favorites. I'm lucky that my job sends me overseas a few times per year and is pretty flexible. It's also nice to take 'detours' on my way home, which is how I found myself in Cairo last January |
