How can I get into my profile?
- You can do so by answering
one of the questions that you chose when you signed up. Only a
correct answer will allow our system to reset your password and send
you a confirmation email to your email address that we have on file.
Our system is so secure that even we do not possess your password.
If you cannot remember the answers to your questions, your profile must
be deleted and a new account created. This is a safety feature
for all of our members
- How do I change my password?
- To change your password
go to "my account" located in the upper right corner of any page.
Your password can be changed here and then remember to hit the "update
account" button after doing so.
- Where is my profile/I
cannot see my profile/Users cannot see my profile?
- If you have not hidden your
profile then it is located on the system. Not all profiles will
be seen by other users because we require that you have at least 50%
match in order for you to even be considered as a candidate for someone
else. But you can be searched by user name in our Magic Match
and regular search functions. This is part of our proprietary
system to make sure that matches are someone that will be compatible
with you.
- How can I add/delete
a user as my favorite?
- On each user's main profile,
there is a button that will allow you to add them to your "favorites."
Once added, that user will appear on your homepage under the favorites
tab. You can also click on the tab to see all your favorites on
a search page.
- To delete that user as a
favorite, Click the "favorites" button on his/her profile again
to remove them from your "favorites."
- How do I chat with someone?
- You can chat with any users
that are online. Just click the "chat" button on the users
profile to launch the chat applet if they are online. There is
also a search function that will allow you to search all users that
are currently online
- What is a tickle and
how do I use it?
- A tickle is a predetermined
message feature that will allow you to send a user a "tickle" in
order to show your interest in them. You are only allowed to send
3 tickles a week so use them wisely. It's a great way to break
the ice without having to actually write out a message. At that
point, the user can respond to your tickle with a message or even chat
if you are both online at the same time.

address?
- To change your email address
go to "my account" located in the upper right corner of any page.
Your email address can be changed here and then remember to hit the
"update account" button after doing so.
- How do I change the settings
for my email?
- To change your email settings,
after you have logged into the website, go to "my account" located
in the upper right corner of any page. Next click on the "Preferences"
menu located on the left side of the page. Your email communication
settings can be changed here. Finally, remember to hit the "update
account" button after doing so.
- How do I change my home
location?
- To change your home location,
after you have logged into the website, go to "my account" located
in the upper right corner of any page. At the bottom of the page
is a "location" section. You can update your location here.
Hit the "update account" button to save your changes.
PROFILE
- How can I edit my profile?
- Any part of your profile
can be easily changed. After signing in, go to the homepage if
you are not already there. The left side navigation includes a
link that says "edit my profile." You can make changes to
any part of your profile.
- How do I hide my profile?
- Hiding your profile will
stop your profile from being searched. You can still search and
interact normally though no one will be able to find your profile unless
they have already added your to their favorites. After signing
in, go to the homepage if you are not already there. The left
side navigation includes a link that says "hide my profile."
Click it once to hide it. Click it again to make it reappear.
- How can I delete my profile?
- We hate to lose you, but
did you know you could just hide your profile? If you still want
to delete your profile just email support at support@datecover.com.
- How do I add/delete images?
- To add a photo, go to the
user home page. On the left menu there is an option to "upload
photo." Click this link to send you to our photo control page.
Here you can upload and then crop your images with our photo uploader.

Scroll down to the image you would like to delete. Check the "Delete
this image" button, and then click the yes to confirm the image deletion.
- How can I change the
comment on my images?
- Though pictures are worth
a thousand words, comments can better explain the contents. You
can put a comment on your while uploading the image or you can add/change
the comment from the photo control page. Scroll down to the image
you would like to add/change the comment to, type your comment into
the comment dialogue box , and finally click "save."
- How do I make an image
my default profile picture?
- To make a photo your main
profile pic, go to the user home page. On the left menu there
is an option to "upload photo." Click this link to send you
to our photo control page. Scroll down to the image you would
like to make your profile picture. Check the button that says
"Make this your profile pic."
- Why was my picture denied?
- According to our user agreement we
have the right to deny or remove any picture for any reason. If you
have posted a picture that our staff deems inappropriate , offensive,
and illegal, we will deny or remove that image immediately. You
will receive an email if an image is denied or removed.
- How do you flag someone
for offensive comments or pictures?
- If you see an image or comment
on an image, click on "flag this profile" and then explain what
it is that you find offensive or inappropriate. You can also email
the staff at support@datecover.com with the user's member ID and the reason
you find the profile or picture inappropriate. Depending on the
staff's decision
- How do I add a note to
someone's profile?
- Whole on the profile page
of the user you want to add a note, scroll down to the note section
and type in a note that you want to add. Then click "add note."
Your note will appear below the text box with appropriate time stamp
of when you added the note. The note can be deleted with the link
on the right.
SEARCHES
- Why don't I get results
from my search?
- The search function is a
critical tool in your endeavor to find the perfect match. To maximize
your search results expand your limits narrowing down only your must
haves. That way your search will be successful. Remember
new users are added every day so come back and do searches often as
each search will turn out different results.
- How do I perform a detailed
search?
- Click on the search tab
at the top menu. In the "detailed search" section, just expand
your criteria of the details you would like to add to your search.
The more details the more you will narrow down your pool of potential
matches. Click the search buttong and look at your results

online?
- Online users are easy to
find. They are a permanent module on the right side of the page
under the new users section.

COMMUNICATION
- How do I know I have
a message?
- There are multiple ways
that we let you know you have a new message. First we will send
you an email to the one we have file when a message arrives. Next
on the top bar any unread messages will be displayed next to the email
button. And finally, on your user homepage we list new messages
in the center console.
- How do you block/unblock
users?
- You can block anyone from
the users profile that you want to block. Just click on the block
button to add them to your block list. You will be shown a "block"
on the image of any user you block.
- To unblock them, just hit
the unblock button on the profile or in your blocked list, just click
the X button to remove them from the list.
- Why are my messages blocked?
- Messages that you send are
blocked because the user you are trying to send a message you has blocked
you or disable their account from receiving messages.
- How do I delete my messages?
- Delete your messages by
checking the box next to the message(s) you would like to delete.
Then hit the delete button at the top of the column.
- How do I add/delete a
contact to my email?
- You can add a contact to
your email by making them your favorite. In order to make them
your favorite, go to that person's profile and click on the "favorites"
button.
- To remove them, go to your
favorites and delete them.
- How do I flag spam?
- To flag a message as spam,
please check mark the message in question and flag then click the spam
button at the top of the page. We will examine the message and
remove any users who are spamming inappropriately.
- Can I send
attachments?
- You cannot add attachments
to your to your message.
- How can I send SMS messages
to any phone?
- In order to send text messages
(SMS) from DateCover to any mobile phone the recipient must allow for
those messages to be received. A charge of ___ /text will be assessed
for the sending those text messages. Or you can buy a bundle of
texts.
SAFETY
- What is a scammer?
- A scammer is a person who
intentionally deceives another individual in order to obtain personal
information or funds through fraudulent claims. Please take the
same care and precautions with any stranger you meet online as you would
personally. As stated in our user agreement we do not screen any
individuals personally and do not vouch for anyone. Scammers are
tricky and can easily exploit anyone who is not taking the necessary
precautions. If you think you are approached by a scammer online
please report them to DateCover.com with all the necessary details it
would take for us to understand the problem.
- I'm about to meet someone
in person that I met on Datecover.com, what should I do?
- Meeting someone who you
have met online does not make it any more safe or dangerous than meeting
them in a library or down a dark alley. We always recommend taking
any and all precautions when meeting someone new. Always let a friend,
family member or work colleague know where you are meeting this individual
including time and the details of the individual you are meeting.
You may even want to let them know you will call them when the date
is over so that they may know you are safe. Datecover has made
a tool to help you with this by being able to send those details via
SMS (mobile text)or email so that someone will know where you went and
who you went with.
